Who we are and what we do
Anschütz (formerly Raytheon Anschütz) is the world's leading expert in ship navigation systems and maritime solutions tailored to the needs of its customers.
We design and deliver efficient Integrated Navigation Systems (INS) like Synapsis NX, and Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS), including warship integrated bridge and navigation systems (WINBS). Our product range includes sophisticated and cutting-edge gyro compass technology like the rock-solid Standard 22 NX and the maintenance-free Standard 30 MF, compass repeaters and heading management systems. With the experience of thousands of autopilot installations, Anschütz has developed a series of non-adaptive and adaptive / fuel-saving autopilots (e.g. PilotStar NX, NautoPilot 5000NX), precise track control systems as well as highly accurate manual steering gear control systems (e.g. NautoSteer AS). Our product range includes electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS) and Warship ECDIS (WECDIS). We also offer state-of-the-art ship radars for navigation and surveillance, and applications for navigational radar and naval radar. Our eLog (approved electronic logbooks) provide automated and digitized logbook entries and enable paperless shipping. With SYNTACS NX we developed an innovative, modular Command & Control (C2) system for mission management, situational awareness, area surveillance, search and rescue, and other missions. In addition, we offer highly accurate marine inertial navigation systems and submarine systems and solutions.
Our company was founded in 1905 by Dr. Hermann Anschütz-Kaempfe after he invented the gyro compass for ships. Supported by Albert Einstein, Anschütz continued to develop the gyro compass over the years until 1925 when production of the well-known two-gyro compass began. Over the decades, Anschütz was able to revolutionize shipping with numerous innovations, including the so-called iron helmsman, the chart plotter, the track control system and the first integrated navigation system with type approval. Later Anschütz expanded the product range to include radar systems and electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS), and developed into an integrator of customer-specific, sophisticated bridge systems and mission systems.
Today, we design, integrate and deliver efficient navigation and mission systems for commercial ships, megayachts, refit projects, naval surface combatants, small combatants and submarines. Approximately 30,000 ships are equipped with Anschütz products. They are supported by the Anschütz Group and a worldwide network of certified sales and service partners.
We are committed to working with a global team of professionals to ensure safe and reliable marine navigation – anytime, anywhere. Wherever you navigate – we are with you.
