Bridging innovation and experience at SMM 2022

Anschütz joins the world’s largest maritime trade fair SMM in Hamburg.

Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine technology (SMM) is the world’s largest trade fair for shipping and has been the most important meeting place for the maritime community for 30 years.

During this time, Anschütz, presented numerous new products and projects at the SMM. After a forced break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Anschütz now returns to SMM with a large portfolio of navigational products, located at booth B6.304.

"We are moving navigation forward by bridging innovation and experience,” said Martin Richter, marketing manager at Anschütz. “We are going to highlight our products and capabilities in current and future bridge and navigation systems as well as the level of service we provide our customers and partners.”

Anschütz’s exhibit ranges from gyro compasses, which have proven their value in thousands of installations through fuel-efficient autopilots and modern navigational software applications to innovations such as the electronic logbook. The integrated navigation system offers further enhanced functionality, additional interfacing capabilities and several options for customization, providing the basis for bridge digitalization and the start for a journey towards remotely controlled and autonomous ships.

The 30th SMM should be more innovative than ever before. Digitalization, the maritime energy transition and climate change are driving the transformation of shipping and the development of efficient, cooperative or disruptive solutions. From September 6 through 9, around 40,000 international visitors are expected to attend SMM in Hamburg, Germany.
