Innovation boost for the gyrocompass

Anschütz is further improving the world's most successful gyrocompass with new ideas.

Since the invention of the gyrocompass by Hermann Anschütz-Kaempfe in 1904, Anschütz has built up unrivalled expertise and experience with this product over generations. The technology has been successively developed and perfected with the Standard 22 family of gyrocompasses.

Standard 22 is the most successful gyrocompass of all time. Customers value the Standard 22 gyrocompass family for its excellent price-performance ratio and outstanding accuracy and reliability.

The current generation of the Standard 22 NX is additionally characterised by high robustness, rock-solid performance and simple installation and configuration.

Recently, Anschütz has held an ideas competition to find out how the best gyrocompass in the world can be made even better. Four projects have been launched in the company's own innovation hub with the aim of further improving the quality and robustness of the gyrocompass, extending runtimes and implementing further features. The results are to be incorporated into the future development of Anschütz’ gyro product line.

The Standard 22 NX offers customers a technology that has proven itself under all conditions on board with a low initial cost and low life cycle costs. Due to the sustainable gyrosphere circuit and the worldwide availability of service and spare parts, the compass is a secure investment.

In addition, Anschütz has made considerable investments in recent years to make the production of gyrocompasses and gyrospheres ready for the future with state-of-the-art machines, and to reliably meet the increasing demand.
