Navigation and bridge systems for coast guard vessels

Rapid intervention and safe navigation for “Blue Forces”

To protect our seas and shores, ships with sovereign tasks – public authority ships such as coast guard or policing vessels – rely on validated data, consistent information and a clear situational picture.

Anschütz offers integrated bridge systems (IBSs) that allow full control, where required with smart options efficiently enhancing the navigation system’s capability. This not only saves cost for additional equipment, the higher degree of integration also improves the situational awareness.

"With Anschütz navigation and bridge systems, you always have full control over your mission and can navigate effectively and safely to success."

Superior capabilities on the bridge

Our navigation systems and sensors stand for high reliability and precision even under challenging circumstances. In the centre of our solutions, the smart bridge integration platform validates data and alerts and ensures consistent data and designations throughout the entire system. Our systems calculate a precise, comprehensive overview of the maritime environment and allow access to all important functions, sensors and actuators from every workstation. This ensures maximum safety at sea and superior mission success.

Mission-specific solutions

Thanks to the open architecture and scalability of our bridge system, additional, mission-specific sensors or software functions can be added to the radar and ECDIS at any time. These include, for example, high-performance surveillance radars, ice radars, oil-spill detection systems, sonars and camera systems. Optional features are available for mission planning and coordination, area monitoring, rapid intercept or search and rescue operations among other purposes. Modern, standardised and easy-to-learn user interfaces provide the crew with all important information with features available at a fingertip.

Interoperability and autonomous systems

Anschütz bridge systems can integrate data links to enable communication and data exchange with other maritime units, the coast guard centre on land and international partners. This bears the potential to increase the effectiveness of maritime missions and rescue operations. Anschütz is also developing innovations beyond this: the remote control and data integration of autonomous systems, including the use of intelligent mission systems based on artificial intelligence, enable coastguard and survey vessels, for example, to patrol, survey or investigate sea areas more efficiently and safely.

With these innovations, we are fundamentally and effectively improving situation analyses, supporting precise recommendations for action and shortening response times in the field. In all solutions, cyber security is of great importance to maintain data integrity, confidentiality and availability of information and functions, as well as to protect against potential threats.

Enabling the best fitting solution

Anschütz stands for the committed and flexible handling of customer requirements, for reliable customer relations and for excellent customer service. Thanks to the high level of integration of the bridge system, we provide the best solution for coast guard vessels and other (multipurpose) public authority vessels.

Experienced engineers and technicians with decades of experience provide competent technical support in close proximity to the customer, both during the project stage as well as after delivery. Our project managers guide customers from the first outline and specification of systems through realisation and on-time delivery to setting in operation with individual advice and technical support. We are also familiar with handling demanding and mission-specific requirements.

Our Anschütz Group and worldwide service partners provide comprehensive after-sales services, technical support and, after a number of years, customised refit proposals to maintain and expand capabilities.
